  17. <p>     Richard Dreyfuss hates television. Or so it would seem,
  18. given his recent rants on the talk-show circuit. TV is a
  19. "corrupting influence," he declared on the Brokaw Report. "The
  20. people who work within it work with a kind of arrogant blindness
  21. to their effect on the populace," he whined on New York's
  22. Charlie Rose. Perhaps Dreyfuss had a little memory lapse. Or
  23. perhaps he thinks highly of his own work on the tube. Astute
  24. viewers of some McDonald's ads (like the one about a father-son
  25. fast-food run) may have noted that the voice behind the burger
  26. plug comes from Mr. McCritic, Richard Dreyfuss.
